TRAVEL ENTRY

Edinburgh, Scotland - Last hours - 23 June 2003

Posted by Edmond on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 · Comments (0)

On the tour bus for the late morning and early afternoon to get a bit of context of what Scotland is all about. Making the most of the patchy sunny weather that is probably typical of this region before taking the next flight home.

Background

I hitched a ride on one of the tour buses for the main purpose of getting back to Waverly station and also to get some background on Edinburgh. We went up past Calton Hill, travelled through Princes St around the gardens before eventually finding our way to Greyfriars bobby, known to be the most photographed statue in Edinburgh.

After exiting the bus, I made tracks back to Greyfriars to get a closer look of the Greyfriars bobby and the gravesite. Already, there were a few people photographing the statue and putting things on it. On the other hand, the graveyard just across to the next street was a bit more peaceful than the busy street where the statue was located.

But with only about a few hours left before my flight, I decided to relax under the Scott Monument. Around the park, lots of people were making the most of the sunshine that I missed during the weekend. If only there were more sunny days in Edinburgh.
